ECWM4 27-29 April, 2009
Welcome to the website of ECWM4, the only international conference dedicated to all wood modification technologies. The latest conference in the series was held in Stockholm, Sweden, on April 27-29, 2009, hosted by EcoBuild, an Institute Excellence Center at SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden (www.ecobuild.se), in cooperation with KTH, division of Building Materials.
Previous conferences were held in Ghent in 2003 (ECWM1), Göttingen in 2005 (ECWM2) and Cardiff in 2007 (ECWM3). The conference provides a forum for members of research organisations and companies to exchange experiences and ideas about the latest developments in this rapidly changing field. The conference covers chemical, thermal, oleothermal, and mechanothermal modifications, as well as other potential technologies. Concerning wood modification applications, issues as gluing, coatings and composites technology, testing methods and standards, and environmental issues are presented and discussed.
